Freelance Developer Required for Partnership

Hi,

I am looking for a potential business partner for Lemonstand projects. I am highly proficient in design, html, css - but I lack the real skills to develop fully customised stores. I seem to be getting plenty of enquiries but have had to turn down many opportunities because the leads wanted more than what I could give them without me having to hire various developers.

I am also planning on moving to Canada in the next 12-18 months (currently live in the UK), so someone in and around Calgary/Edmonton area would be perfect.

At the moment just looking to start up a conversation with someone similar to me. Perhaps you are a god at php but lack the design skills? Perhaps you are passionate about Lemonstand and what can be achieved with it? Well I am also very passionate and am looking for someone similar to me.

Interested?  Email me at nick@pixelsandcode.co.uk

Custom Shipping Module needed

We are looking to get some pricing / timeframes on the development of a shipping module that allows the client to select, from a drop-down, the band that a product belongs to for shipping.

I.E.

Band A - Heavy goods
Band B - Medium Goods
Band C - Small Goods

Within each band there would need to be the ability to setup tiers, so this module / method would be like a nested table matrix (like those standard ones) i.e.

Band | From Qty | To Qty | Shipping Cost
----------------------------------------
A    | 1        | 1      | 17.99
A    | 2        | 3      | 24.99
A    | 3        | 4      | 29.99
A    | 5        | and up | 0.00
B    | 1        | 1      | 4.99
B    | 2        | 3      | 5.99
B    | 3        | 4      | 6.99
B    | 5        | and up | 0.00
C    | 1        | 1      | 1.99
C    | 2        | 3      | 2.49
C    | 3        | 4      | 3.00
C    | 5        | and up | 0.00

The module would have to take into account mixed product bands in the cart to calculate the correct total i.e.

2xA (24.99) + 1xB (4.99) = 29.98
1xB (4.99) + 3xC (2.49) = 7.98

One thing we might need to do also, which I am not quite sure how to display above in that table format, is offer free shipping on the cart total over a certain limit, i.e. if cart total > 100.00 shipping = 0.00

The above table is a very simple version, it would be ideal to maintain Country, State, Zip etc in the event the client sells outside the primary country.

Please PM me with proposal / timeframe / cost.

I basically need to prevent specific customers checking out until they have reached a minimum order value.

That's basically it.

It needs to be extensible, so I can basically create a customer group and apply a minimum order value to that customer group.
Also it may or may not include shipping and tax.
Any takers?  Looking for quotes.

I am in the process of launching an online subscription business and need to hire a developer contractor.

An engineer friend has been developing the site using LemonStand. He's just accepted a full time job and needs someone technical to hand the rest of the development off to. He's getting it to ready to launch state based on the wireframes and design. That said, there are some additional features I'd like to add to the site pre-launch. First task will be to have a brief discussion with my exiting engineer, ideally as soon as possible.

Additional tasks:
-- one additional page style that allows subscribers to look at photos and rate them (preferably on a sliding scale from "hate it" to "love it") and auto refreshes after submission to the next photo for rating. After 10 ratings the user is finished and given the option to email us with any more specifics. Also will have an option to stop rating anytime.

-- a landing page for a mother's day promotion we will run.

-- modify an email template (not in lemonstand)

-- tweaks to two pages of the existing site, mostly language changes, a few images.

-- support through launch

Item assignment to payment option module job

Certain items, being the cost too high or such should be allowed to force the checkout options to assign to specific payment systems only. For instance if were selling a part that costs 2000.00 accepting the money on PayPal or Google checkout may be too high, doing a PO for it or accepting on a credit card with higher limit would be ideal.
We have a few items that we would like to allow the cart to force the checkout to only specific payment methods when those items are added to the cart. i.e.: if item is in cart, only allow checkout with option 1 2 but not 3 or 4 type deal.

Ideally, having a category or option for the item to restrict it to certain payment provider would be ideal, to go even further allow rule, if cart value is more or less than X dollars, or contains items this and that allow for this payment or that payment.

Furthermore some items can not be sold via certain systems such as perishable goods or whatnot, or other items restricted by the processor which could violate their terms and cause a payment gateway to disable or fine the account.

Please send a PM to me or email to nick@staticusers.net if you are interested in developing such module/plugin and we will discuss payment and further details.

Custom Shipping Modifications - weight based requirements

I'd like to get quotes on adding this functionality to LemonStand. My request follows, and an answer from LemonStand tech support follows that with some specifics, which should be enough to be able to provide a quote on adding this functionality. If you have any questions please let me know.

My original request:

I have a client that is selling perishable goods overnight by FedEd with frozen gel packs to keep the order fresh. Each box starts with a base weight of 11 pounds because of this and must be factored in on the shipping costs. However, the client must put in a minimum of 12 pounds of product before an order can be placed. This part seems straightforward, but the problem is that at above a certain total shipped weight that a new box must be used, with an additional 11 pounds of start weight on the new box, and another 12 pound minimum of product required before this new box can be shipped.

It is mandatory that I get this logic in place so that website customers will see an accurate shipping quote.

To restate: each box starts with 11 pounds of gel pack weight, and must have 12 pounds of product ordered. The total shipped weight is 23 pounds for any order (box+product). Let's set an upper limit of 41 total shipped pounds per box (box+product) for this discussion. So after 41 total shipped pounds (box+product, or 30 pounds of product only), a new box MUST be used, requiring the customer to order an additional minimum of 12 product pounds to be ordered (it is not cost effective to ship less than this minimum).

So if the customer ordered one full box and one minimum box, the total weights would be 41 pounds for the first and 23 pounds for the second. Hopefully this makes sense? The customer cannot place the order until the minimum on any one box has satisfied, even if one full box is ready to go.

Tech support explained this could be done as follows:

The first part will be checking the weight of the products when placing an order. That can be done by handling the shop:onOrderBeforeCreate and/or shop:onBeforeOrderRecordCreate events. That is to ensure an order is not placed if the weight of the ordered products is not as you require it to be, you will also want to implement this check before allowing the customer to proceed with the checkout. Just ensure that when dividing the total weight of the order with the max weight of products per package, the reminder is greater than the minimum required weight. The tricky part could be figuring out how to ship the products if multiples are ordered. Going by your example, if the customer orders 60 pounds of products, that might mean 2 packages (30 pounds of products + 11 pounds of packing per package). But if the order contains 3 products at 20 pounds each and they can't be split up in multiple boxes, then you would need 3 packages (20 pounds of product + 11 pounds of packing per package) because you can't fit 40 pounds of product per package. If the products can be split up and shipped in multiple boxes, then this is not an issue. If they can't, then you (or whomever you hire to do this) will need to keep that in mind when developing the module.

The second part is calculating the shipping cost. Will you be using our FedEx shipping module? It currently doesn't support the functionality you need, but you can either create your own (copy our FedEx module, modify it as you need and save it as a new module) or we can add a set weight to add to the package when requesting the shipping cost estimate to the configuration. So again, going by your example, in the shipping option settings you would setup the max weight of the package to 30 pounds and packaging weight to 11 pounds. When LS requests quotes from FedEx, it will split up the order to however many packages of up to 30 pounds each are necessary and add 11 pounds to the total weight of each of them. There's also the issue of package volume, we could add a set value there as well (LS estimates the package dimensions based on the total volume of products and number of packages). If that amount of modifications is sufficient, let us know, that can be added. If you require more though or if the products can't be split up in multiple boxes, you will need to look into implementing your own shipping module.

Checkout implementation

I'm creating a modified checkout process. Below is the checkout flow, including the fields per page.

The site only uses an email address (no password - only for retrieve measurements), only sells to Australian customers (via eWay), and postage is always free and omitted from the checkout process.

The frontend is designed/built and only requires implementing checkout and properly connecting with the database (likely a non-AJAX step-by-step checkout).

Multi-Piece Shipments

As it is, LemonStand calculates the shipping as if all items were going into one box. We would like someone to implement a multi-piece shipment feature into our system that would enable us to denote an item as requiring its own box for shipment and shipping quote/price adjusted accordingly. We ship only via UPS. Below is the response provided by UPS on how to integrate with their API. Please PM me to discuss pricing and provide me with your development experience. We pay in USD.

Quote

Thank you for your inquiry. I am so sorry you are loosing money on multiple piece shipments. UPS has always allow multiple piece shipments but it is up to the shopping cart to integrate the proper technology for this type of request. Here is the information that you requested:

The UPS Rating APIs and the UPS Shipping APIs will process multi-piece shipments up to two hundred packages. To submit a multiple-piece shipment request, you will need to include multiple entries of the ***/Shipment/Package element. Each entry for "Package" must contain the elements for the packages for which you are requesting rates. You will then receive a rate for each package, and a shipment rate or you will receive multiple shipping labels if you are using the Shipping APIs.

The information below is for the XML format but the exact same information applies to Web Services and works in the same way.

There is a limitation in the Rating API. If you use the Request Option of “Shop” you are limited to requesting a multi-piece shipment of 50 packages.

Here is a code snippet of the <Package> container:
<Package>
<PackagingType>

04

UPS 25KG Box

</PackagingType>

Rate

<PackageWeight>
<UnitOfMeasurement>

KGS

</UnitOfMeasurement>
<Weight>23</Weight>
</PackageWeight> <Dimensions> <UnitOfMeasurement>
IN
</UnitOfMeasurement> <Length>40</Length>

12
</Dimensions> </Package> <Package>
<PackagingType>

04

UPS 25KG Box

</PackagingType>

Rate

<PackageWeight>
<UnitOfMeasurement>

KGS

</UnitOfMeasurement>
<Weight>23</Weight>
</PackageWeight> <Dimensions> <UnitOfMeasurement>
IN
</UnitOfMeasurement> <Length>40</Length>

12
</Dimensions>
</Package>

Continue this pattern for up to 50 packages if you are using the Shop Request Option or 200 packages if you are using the Rate Request Option and a specific UPS Service such as code 03

We would like to have confirmation emails routed to the location chosen by the customer so that our locaation staff are aware of the new order and can fulfill it for customer pickup. Also have some relatively twitter integration help needed. Please either find us on twitter (@affariproject) or direct message us here. Thanks!
