I am providing a proposal in a few days to a small manufacturer. There is a very high probability that this project will be awarded to my company). The Manufacturer will NOT be selling directly to the public. So one of the most used check out payments will be with a "Purchase Order" or "PO Number" for short. This "PO Number" is a random number that the Dealer (aka customer) will provide from their accounting department so the "PO Number" can be any thing.
Another requirement is the Dealer (customers account) has to have the ability to approve any Dealer to use the "PO Number" payment System, as this is "in house" credit.
Another requirement is if a Dealer is "Cash" only (meaning paying by COD, or Company Check, or via Tradition Credit Cards)there needs to be the OPTION of a "PO Number" attached to CASH type orders, not a requirement like "PO Number" order only orders.
