Update: product extras extension

awesome, i was just going to put that in the feature request. has the import/export mechanism been updated? can i now bind an image to a specific product extra rather than to the product?

how about options next? it would be great (and probably more useful than extras) if i could attach a specific image to an option, say something like color, where each option would have a specific image. then i could swap out my display image based on the option selection

Not yet. But this is planned, of course :-)

Yes, we know. We will extend options with the images. The problem with options is that now options are text-based. When you create a Color option, you add option values as text, one line per item: Red, Green, Blue. To make the image support we will need to store separate option values in the database, in separate table records. This is not that simple to upgrade the existing data model and do not break existing products, but we will do it in any way. I cannot say - when, unfortunately.
