Hi there,

Does Lemonstand currently have a method of developing a faceted navigation system? i.e. Navigate / filter a category by price band, colour, size and other options/attributes?

Cheers,

Steve

I hope I can ask this clearly but is there a way to set up the catalog ahead of time so that when this features is implemented, we won't have to go through all the products and update them.

Sorry, I just found out about lemonstand today, but this is a feature I would like to have if we decide to use lemonstand. I'm not sure how this would work in lemonstand, but in Magento you set up your attributes and set them as filterable. So you have to have these filterable attributes determined for each product.

Again, I don't know how it will work for lemonstand, but could you set up those attributes (or equivelent) ahead of time before this feature has been implemented.

I hope that makes sense and you understand where I am going with this.

Steve,

Please read this article: http://lemonstandapp...he_search_page/ LemonStand search function allows to filter products by attributes, options, manufacturers, price and categories. The difference between this search implementation and the faceted navigation is that LemonStand search does not narrow the search options down automatically each time when you perform a new search. But this could be a good alternative for you in any way.

Also, you can search products with API, using the Shop_Product::find_products() function. In theory you can use this function to build a faceted navigation by yourself. Each time when you load new product set with the function, you can use it for narrowing down the attributes, options, manufacturers, price and other search options.

Thanks

Good question Dardub.

Thanks for getting back to me Aleksey. I realise you guys are working hard on many new features, but where does this sit on your priority list? Will it form part of the core or be a paid addon module?

Thanks again,

Steve

Steve,

The task is in the middle of our list. Before this feature we are going to implement several large-scale tasks, which could take a few months. I can move the task higher in our list, but even in this case it could take 1.5-2 months before we begin.

We were going to implement this feature as a separate plugin, but we still not sure, sorry.

Aleksey

Any news on this Aleksey?

It has more votes than any in the Marketplace and it has come off the Roadmap, unless I am going mad and blind?

Confused.com as to why this is not in the core yet...

Ive implemented this as a separate plugin. Technically the find_products() function does work for simple faceted navigation and is already built into core. The core should not include a fully robust faceted navigation as every customer can use it differently.

An advanced faceted navigation should exist in a module and I am working to make this possible with my faceted navigation module. I will try and bump it ahead on my internal list and try and get this module released faster.

Thank you very much for replying - this is well needed and I imagine a very popular seller ;)
