I am hoping someone can answer a few questions I have. We're looking into different e-commerce packages and lemonstand so far is moving to the top of the list.
We currently have one static site at http://www.gatedepot.com. I'm looking for a package that is easily customizable so we don't have to change the way information is displayed and scare off returning customers.
We have another site that we've been running on Magento for the past year, but even after getting past the magento learning curve, it is still a headache. So I'm looking for something better, we don't need every feature under the sun.
1. I'm wondering how the site (frontend and admin) will perform when loading a catalog of 5000+ and growing products?
2. Is there a time frame for when google checkout and amazon payments will be incorporated?
3. I downloaded the developer license, when we want to purchase the full license, is it just a matter of copying over the templates and custom modules over to the paid version?
4. If you look at this page on our site http://www.gatedepot...gates_steel.php
You can see that the product list is organized into different subcategories. Is there a way we could accomplish this in lemonstand, or would this be an easily customizable module?
5. Are there additional modules/extensions we can install to add more functionality? I couldn't find it on your site.
Sorry if asking all of these questions in one thread isn't kosher. I've tried to research these questions before asking them.
Thanks.

Was this an inapropriate way to find out this information? I think question most important is the speed of the site. We need to keep load times down to close to 2 seconds while still having 5000+ products.

Hi, dardub!
It looks like LemonStand fits your requirements.
On my old Mac Mini which I use for the development, I have a test database which contains 5395 products. Everything works instantly - both the front-end and Administration Area.
No, there is no time frame, but you can develop your own payment modules. Usually developing a payment module for LemonStand takes only a few hours (or a day, for beginners).
You will not need to copy anything. You can use the developer license for building a live website. When you are ready, you will convert the developer license into a commerce (by paying the order) and then update your LemonStand copy (one-click operation) to remove the development restrictions.
LemonStand supports product categories and subcategories. You can output all categories on a single page, or on different pages, depending on your needs. The API is very flexible, so you are not limited with any fixed website structure.
There is a simple contact page module: http://forum.lemonst...ontact-us-page/
Usually people develop modules for their own needs. In the future we are going to launch the App Store on our website, where people can share LemonStand modules and other stuff.
Thank you

Thank you Aleksey for the reply. It all sounds really good.
I wanted to add that it really makes me happy to see you on the forums and being so helpful with everyone's questions. That is a big factor in the decision. As soon as my boss gets back from vacation I will give LemonStand as my recommendation.
I hope that as your company grows you or your staff will continue to be on the forums helping us little guys out.
