I'm new to Lemonstand and trying to get an idea of what the email marketing capabilities are.

I understand there is the ability to customise emails that notify customers about their orders, but can it do the following:
- manage your contacts list
- create custom fields
- send mass email newsletters or promotional campaigns
- segment the contacts in the contacts list and send different emails to each?
- statistics on email campaign open rates, click through rates etc.

If it does not do these things, is it possible to integrate customer details into other email marketing systems such as http://www.interspir.../emailmarketer/

LemonStand does not handle the things you listed. Perhaps in the future, but there are so many other great systems out there (Interspire's IEM, Campaign Monitor, MailChimp, etc.) I'm not sure that it's necessary.

With IEM it is indeed possible to have customer sign up to a list. In fact, we do this exact things on our website.
