Hello,
We're in the process of deploying a new ecommerce website to sell our shirts using LS. Although LS does offer some inventory tracking capability, it's current functionality does not meet our needs and as such, we are interested in getting a quote to develop a more robust sku/inventory tracking module.
The LS setup will likely be the following:
1. shirt products setup by line and collar style. Eg. 100% cotton Crew Neck (product 1), 100% cotton v-neck (product 2), etc.
2. each shirt product will have a grouped product of color (white will be base grouped product, then we'll add black and grey colors as other grouped products). This will allow us to change pictures when people select the color swatch.
3. each base product will be setup with a product option of size (small, med, large, xl, 2xl)
From and inventory tracking point of view, this means that each product will have up to 15 variations.
100% cotton crew neck (15 variations)
white - s,m,l,xl,2xl
black - s,m,l,xl,2xl
grey - s,m,l,xl,2xl
100% cotton v-neck (15 variations)
white - s,m,l,xl,2xl
black - s,m,l,xl,2xl
grey - s,m,l,xl,2xl
We would like each variation to inherit the base product's sku, but we would like to append additional information for each variation so each variation has a unique sku. Example: 1-Cotton-Crew (base product). 1-Cotton-Crew-W-S (white, small).
In addition, we want to track inventory levels at each variation and want to be able to adjust inventory levels as needed when orders are placed for each variation (decrement from variation inventory level), or orders are canceled (increment variation inventory level), items removed from an order, items added to an order. On the purchase side, inventory levels should be decremented only when payment is complete.
There should be a place in the interface to add in all the inventory levels and define the variation skus, plus that interface should also allow us to update the information manually as needed.
Ideally there would be some sort of audit tracking log to know when inventory levels were decremented and incremented, otherwise you can't really reconcile very well.
The screen shots attached are illustrations of how our current shopping cart software handles variation level skus and inventory tracking.
If you need further clarification, please let us know.

Hi Phil,
Can you please get in touch? I'm very interested in your inventory modules but haven't had a reply to the PM's I've sent you. =)
Cheers,
- Luke
